Today we watch a very good cartoon by a great Soviet art-director Eduard Nazarov. We already watched some of his cartoons about Vinni Puh (or how sometimes they spell it Vinni Pukh). That is a Russian version of Winnie the Pooh. Here you can read some our articles about our favorite Russian series about Vinni Puh.
Today we watch one more of his masterpieces. It based on a Ukrainian folk tale: “There Once Was A Dog” (Жил-был пес). This cartoon has English subtitles. You and your kids will get a lot of fun! We did! 😉
For people who wants to know more.
This great animation movie got these awards:
– First Prize (Odense Denmark 1983)
– First Prize (Tours France 1983)
– Special Jury Prize (Annecy France 1983)
They put a sculpture of the Wolf by Leonty Usov in Russian city Tomsk in 2005. This sculpture can talk some famous phrases from the cartoon (like “Щас спою!/I wanna sign!”) if you rub his belley. The name of this sculpture is “Monument of happiness”.

Hello,
They used a Polish song for this slide-show: “Filipinki – “Walentyna Twist“.
And that is how the author of this slide-show translated for us this song in English:
I. Mr. Twardowski, on the top,
calls across a clouds: “Bravo, Vala, bis!”
And he sung to Vala
from a moon’s gala “Valentina Twist”
Ref.
Valentina, Valentina, just the land of stars know her well
It was a flower for Gagarin, but Valentina has a twist.
Valentina, Valentina, she is the first, all over the world, a sky-high miss
So her name begin the latest “Valentina Twist”
II. Maybe the old moon
find two guitars and send a letter to you
That you came,
that you sang “Valentina Twist”
Ref.
Valentina, Valentina, just the land of stars know her well.
It was a flower for Gagarin, but Valentina has a twist.
Valentina, Valentina, she is the first, all over the world, a sky-high miss
So her name begin the latest “Valentina Twist”.

We are just back from our trip to the village and today we are happy to publish this beautiful and optimistic video: A century old and still going strong. The current stars of the Russian ballet gathered on stage at the Bolshoi Theatre to pay tribute to the legendary dancer Marina Semenova.
As for me I always feel proud for humanity when I read such stories!
Best wishes for all,

Been a city person I love nature, cherish any moment what we can spend watching the nature… That’s why we made so many “Duck’s videos” here and here.. Time goes ahead and today ducks in this pond already swim with little funny ducklings. It was so much fun to watch them! We made a little movie about them trying to share it with you. The ducklings’ life is just happiness! Watch the video and be happy the same way like these little ducklings :))).
For this video we used the famous Italian song “Il ballo del qua qua” by Al Bano and Romina Power.
For our readers who wants to know more about this duck and her ducklings:
We really were stunned how well these ducks can dive!
The Common Goldeneye (Bucephala clangula) is a medium sized sea duck of the genus Bucephala, the goldeneyes. Their closest relative is the similar Barrow’s goldeneye.
Adult males ranges from 45-52 cm (18-21 inches) and from 888 to 1400 grams (1.9 to 3.1 lbs), while females range from 40-50 cm (16-20 inches) and from 500 to 1182 grams (1.1 to 2.6 lbs). The species is aptly named for its golden-yellow eye. Adult males have a dark head with a greenish gloss and a circular white patch below the eye, a dark back and a white neck and belly. Adult females have a brown head and a mostly grey body. Their legs and feet are orange-yellow.
Their breeding habitat is the taiga. They are found in the lakes and rivers of boreal forests across Canada and the northern United States, Scandinavia and northern Russia.
To read more about this ducks you can here.
Have a good weekend try to find time to enjoy nature!

Today Russia marks major holiday! Thursday is Russia Day – the country’s national holiday. The Declaration of Sovereignty was adopted in June 1990, when Russia was still a republic within the USSR. The document paved the way to a modern Russia, and is a milestone in the nation’s history.
That’s good to have a day off but a lot of Russians still does not understand what is the holiday about. Be honest I don’t either. But it’s good thing to have four days off in the row, especially when the weather is getting better :). So I don’t complain!
Best wishes.

Hello,
This is a good video about the most Russian city in Germany! You heard correct, “The most Russian city in Germany!”
Germany’s spa resort of Baden-Baden has a distinctly Russian edge. Favoured by Russian writers and aristocracy, it now has a large community of Russian emigrants and has recently regained popularity among rich tourists from Russia.
Well worth the watch.
