Hello,

Jews all over the world are celebrating the Holday of Light: Hanukkah at this time of the year! Moscow is celebrating Hanukkah as well. In the center of Moscow just by the Kremlin’s walls on the Red Squire they put a big Menorah and every day one more candle gets lid up! Jews and Russians are celebrating together! What a wonderful video of joy and happiness!

Russian Video: Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson (Modern cartoon)!

Hello,

This weekend we started to watch Soviet movie about Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson. And today we will watch a cartoon version about Sherlock Holmes & Dr. Watson. This cartoon was made in 2005. It won Best Writing and 3rd-best-rating at the 2006 Open Russian Festival of Animated Films. So today we’ll watch an example of Russian modern cartoons and one more interesting story (parody) about Sherlock Holmes with English subtitles as always.

To be continued or not – depends on us. The director of the cartoon Alexander Bubnov is willing to make the second part of the cartoon – the scenario is already done I’ve myself personally read it in Russian in his blog. Now he is trying to collect money to make the sequel. You can also read an article in Sherlock Holmes LiveJournal Community.

Best wishes for everyone,

Russian Video: Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson (Movie: Acquaintance)!

Hello,

Do you like detectives? I love them. Every day when I am riding metro to work and back home I am reading detective stories. And if I don’t have a new one I think that I just waste my time in metro. But tastes are different and may be you don’t like detectives that much, but I am sure that you still love Arthur Conan Doyle’s stories. And today we will watch the best screen version of his stories. How do I know that the movie is the best screen version that’s because when you visit museum of Sherlock Holmes in London on Baker Street on the second flour you will see pictures of all actors who’ve ever played Sherlock Holmes and the biggest portrait in the middle of wall is a picture of Vasiliy Livanov (who played Sherlock Holmes in this movie) and everybody (even cinematographers from Great Britain) admits that he was the best. So now we have a chance to watch a real story of real Sherlock Holmes.

Today we are watching a movie: Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson (1979), First episode: “Acquaintance” (based on A Study in Scarlet and The Adventure of the Speckled Band).

Hello,

Be honest we are not too much in all these beauty contests. But the video what we found about the Miss World 2008 contest must be shown! Today we are watching “Miss World 2008 Top 5 Interview”:

I don’t really know if Ksenia Sukhinova was the most beautiful one on this contest, I am not specialist to judge. But her interview is the thing what I am really proud about: She told that the reason why she should have this crown is because she likes and wants to help people, and to be Miss the World could help her to do it better!
