Звезды висят, как будто апельсины,

Задравши хвост, пышный хвост,
Ходят кометы, важно как павлины,

А на луне, на луне,
Едет медведь на слоне,
Лунный медведь – голубенькие глазки,
Не замечает он того,
Что мы глядим на него
И сам себе вслух читает сказки.

И вся печаль проходит, когда глядишь на небо –
В трубу или просто в окно,
Но, правда, в это время ни дождика, ни снега
На улице быть не должно,
Тогда среди несметных сокровищ небосвода
Найдется звезда и для тебя,
Но только надо, чтобы хорошая погода
Была на планете Земля.

Там высоко, высоко
Кто-то пролил молоко,
И получилась млечная дорога,
А вдоль по ней, вдоль по ней,
Между жемчужных полей,
Месяц плывет, как белая пирога.

А на луне, на луне,
На голубом валуне,
Лунные люди смотрят, глаз не сводят,
Как над луной, над луной,
Шар голубой, шар земной,
Очень красиво всходит и заходит.

Ни дождика, ни снега, ни пасмурного ветра
В полночный безоблачный час,
Распахивает небо сверкающие недра
Для зорких и радостных глаз,
Сокровища вселенной мерцают, словно дышат,
Звенит потихоньку зенит,
А есть такие люди, они прекрасно слышат,
Как звезда с звездою говорит:

-Здравствуй!
-Здравствуй!
-Сияешь?
-Сияю…
-Который час?
-Двенадцатый примерно…
Там на земле в этот час
Лучше всего видно нас
-А как же дети?..
-Дети? Спят, наверное…

Как хорошо от души,
Спят по ночам малыши,
Весело спят – кто в люльке, кто в коляске,
Пусть им приснится во сне,
Как на луне, на луне,
Лунный медведь вслух читает сказки,

Один удивительный факт:
Вот я считаю звезды, а звездам счета нету,
И это действительно так.
Смотрите в телескопы и тоже открывайте
Иные миры и края,

The only rule, howe’er, is that neither snow nor rain there

And then among unmeasured possessions of the heaven,
You’re sure to find a star of yours.
That is, in the event that a perfectly fine weather
Sets in on the planet of Earth.

Somebody, high, high above,
Splattered some milk all about,
As a result, the Milky Way occurred,
And all along it, all along,
All by the plains full of pearls,
A crescent is sailing like a white pirogue.

And on the Moon, on the Moon
On a blue mo
und, a lunar mound,
Moon folk are watching, never rearing eyes,
A big sky-blue globe, the earth’s blue globe,
Cross the Moon sky o’er and o’er,
Splendidly setting down and sightly rising.

There’s neither rain nor snow or a sullen humid wind blast
At hours of serene dead of night.
The sky reveals wide open unfathomed splendent compass
For joyful inquisitive eyes.

The riches of the cosmos are glimmering like breathing,
The Zenith is buzzing a bit.
In fact, there are some people who can distinctly hear
A star to another star speak:

-Evening! – Evening!
-Glittering? – Glittering.
-Whats the time? – Midnight or around
Down on the Earth at this hour,
We can be seen best of all.
-And how about kids? – Must be sleeping sound

Wholesomely, from the heart,
Children are sleeping at night,
Joyfully sleeping both in prams and cradles.
May children dream dreams of theirs
How, on the Moon, a lunar bear
All to himself is telling fairy tales.

A really astonishing thing:
Here am I counting stars, but their number has no limit
And that’s the whole story, indeed.
