Every year the night 20-21st of June is one of the most beautiful celebrations in St. Petersburg – “Алые Паруса” (Scarlet Sails). Pupils who just finished school are celebrating the end of school and the start of new life.

For this weekend we are watching a great movie. This movie was not made in Russia and that is not more about Russia than any another country in the world. This movie “Home” is made by two French masters: director Luke Besson and photographer Yann Arthus-Bertrand. And this movie is about our planet Earth. It shows how beautiful it is and how close we can be to destroy all this beauty.
Today I want to show you a very beautiful video, video made by Russian WWF, video of world premiere this incredible movie “Home” in Russia at 5th of June 2009. This movie what shows us beauty of our planet was was called “the greatest green event ever”. This movie was shown in 87 of the world’s largest cities and absolutly free. In Moscow it was shown in one of most beutiful places Vorobievy gory beautiful park on hills near Moscow University and on the banch of Moscow-river…

The Cossack army fought in almost all the wars waged by the Russian Empire. After the revolution of 1917, a third of the Don Cossacks – around half a million people – were killed or deported by the Bolsheviks. But now the Cossack host here on the Don is seeing a revival.
“We live in the modern world, we run businesses, and we don’t ride around with sabers. But we’ve kept the Cossack spirit, our Orthodox faith, our love for the Don, and loyalty to Russia,” says Vladimir Voronin. (Link)

Can you imaging to have a training with 34th generation Shaolin Temple warrior monk. In Russia it’s possible! Shi Yan Bin (34th generation Shaolin Temple warrior monk) has been living in Moscow for already four years. He is teaching Shaolin Kung Fu in Russian Center of Studying Shaolin Kung Fu in Moscow.
We think that is very exciting to study Shaolin Kung Fu with Shaolin Temple warrior monk!

Our great singer Ludmila Zykina has 80th birthday today and 60th anniversary of her performing sining on the stage.
