A Day of Mourning in Russia!

Today we have photos taken by Svet and a video from Russia Today: Today is a day of mourning in Russia!

Svetlana travels this Metro almost everyday of her life and today she captured on film a Moscow in mourning.
One of the little known facts about this Metro bombing was that most of the victims are young adults suffering from massive internal injuries. That is because this was also known as the University line. (At least that is what I call it.) Students are traveling to the Moscow University to attend classes…
The massive internal injuries where caused in part by the fact that the explosives were designed on purpose to have excess shrapnel in them. The plastic explosive was embedded with nails, nuts, bolts and other small metal objects. Then when the explosion goes off it sends hundreds of projectiles in all directions to maximize injuries and death…
The dead and injured include students from around the world also. That information will be brought out later in time.

Vitas: Mommy and Son.

Russia is mourning…

Today we are listening a Vitas’ song “Mommy and Son”.

Take, baby, mommy’s hand
The way to Paradise is still dark,
And we shall go with you together straight ahead,
My care is necessary to you there!

I’m scared, mommy!
There is no your hand!
And I shall see never the sun.
The fallen wall gets heavier,
And the spark of a short life dies away.

Go, baby, quietly, I’m with you,
The earthly sorry went away for ever
Only take Memory about the family wih you,
Now it is especially important.

I’m scared, mommy!
There is no your hand!
And I shall see never the sun.
The fallen wall gets heavier,
And the spark of a short life dies away.

Now I ask you not to cry, mommy,
Love and take care of living children!
And we shall go with friends
together straight ahead,
Illuminate our way with your heart!

Memory will keep your image, mommy!
My heart is beating slower…
Of course, the hope will defeat the death,
And the son will return to you in a following life!

I’m scared, mommy!
There is no your hand!
And I shall see never the sun.
The fallen wall gets heavier,
And the spark of a short life dies away.

Valentina Tolkunova: "I can not do otherwise"

Valentina Tolkunova, a legend of the Soviet stage, has died at the age of 63 from cancer.

The singer passed away on March 22 in a hospital. She had fallen very ill lately, but until the very end she continued singing – because she “could not do otherwise”.

People called you The Soul of Russian song. Her intimate gentle voice and soft chamber intonations, songs what she sang was close to all Russian women…

And like in these words “I can not do otherwise” Valentina Tolkunova always gave the audiences all she lived for – love, tenderness and frankness.

I can not do otherwise

“I will love you always
I can not do otherwise…”

Rest in peace, Valentina.

Russian Video: Ceremony Of Returning The Eternal Flame!

February, 23 Russia celebrated Defenders of the Fatherland Day. We will watch a beautiful ceremony of returning The Eternal Flame to its traditional home next to the Kremlin.

The eternal flame was moved to Victory Park on Poklonnaya Hill on December 27, 2009, to allow for reconstruction of the memorial complex including the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Alexandrovsky Gardens.

A torch lit at the eternal flame’s temporary home in Victory Park was transported to the Kremlin on Tuesday morning, traveling in an armored personnel carrier with full military honors.

Medvedev then relit the eternal flame at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the foot of the Kremlin Wall in Alexandrovsky Gardens.
