Russian Video: Ded Moroz Visits Children in Hospitals!

Hello,

New Year’s Eve is a time for making wishes, but for thousands of children with serious illnesses there’s just one request – to become healthy again. More than 5,000 children in Russia are diagnosed with cancer every year.

Around 5,000 children become ill with cancer every year. The charity “Give a Life” helps many of them. Its founder, the famous Russian actress Chulpan Khamatova, wants more people to know that the disease is not a sentence and that children suffering from cancer have every chance of recovery.

“I hope more and more people will hear about “Give a Life” in the near future, so that even those who live in the most distant corners of our country know that children’s cancer is treatable and totally curable. Our help is desperately needed to make this happen,” she says.

Immense personal struggle is involved when it comes to treating cancer. Also practical hurdles have to be overcome. Apart from problems with blood shortages and lack of donors, financial problems have to be resolved.

“Unfortunately, the supply of medicine provided by the authorities’ budget is not sufficient,” explains Ekaterina Chistyakova from ‘Give a Life’.

“Our charity foundation buys half the medicine, so that these kids can recover and live normal lives. There are no special provisions in our country concerning people with rare diseases. Meanwhile there are 5 million sufferers in Russia,” Ekaterina says.

This charity is not able to help all of them, but even if little patients of the Moscow hospital recover from their illness, this will give hope to others who are still waiting for help.

We wish all the kids to become healthy and realize their best wishes,

Russian Video: Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson (Movie: Bloody Inscription)!

Hello,

Today we continue watching a wonderful Russian movie about greatest English detective Sherlock Holmes. For our readers who missed the first part we recommend to watch it first:

Russian Video: Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson (Movie: Acquaintance)!

Today we are watching a movie: Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson (1979), Second episode: “Bloody Inscription” (based on A Study in Scarlet).

So we are watching the second part:

A lot of watchers admire the music in Sherlock Holmes movies. The author of this music is Russian composer Vladimir Dashkevich. Composer of music for more than 70 Soviet and Russian movies, was born on the 20th January 1934. Music from the movies was 5 times nominated for Nika award and one time it won Nika.

Vladimir Dashkevich tells: The music for Sherlock Holmes movie was composed without any afford. His friend and director of the movie Igor Maslennikov constantly called him from Leningrad (where they were shooting the movie) to Moscow and reminded that was time to compose the music. When he called me the third time I did not want to upset him took the phone closer to piano and started to play the first what came to my head. That’s how the famous overture was made. When someone accused Picasso for panting one of his masterpieces for 15 minutes. He told that he painted it 15 minutes and whole life. I could tell about the music the same. I love the Conan Doyle stories from my childhood and this music was born in me long long time ago, it just waited its time to sound. People tells that the music was composed in English style. I think that is the dream about beautiful and romantic England, a dream what was born in Russia.

To download the music from the Sherlock Holmes movies you can on the site: Music from Sherlock Holmes Movies. When you click on music-link first you’ll see Yandex page (because Yandex hosts these files with mp3) click on the mp3-link and you’ll get the music.

And one more good news for all us:
Next year we’ll continue to watch Russian movies about Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson.

Have a good weekend,
