Russian Video: Dog Barbos and Unusual Cross. Bootleggers (Movie)

Hello,

Our regular readers already know the name of outstanding Russian comedy-movie director Leonid Gaidai (1923–1993). We already watched his remarkable screen version of O. Henry’s stories “The Roads We Take”, “Makes the Whole World Kin” and “The Ransom of Red Chief” – Strictly Business (Деловые люди), 1962. What we like very much!

Today we will watch his another early-made movie titled Absolutely Seriously (Совершенно серьёзно) (1961) where we meet his famous comic trio of crooks: Experienced, Coward and Fool – who brought him a great success and whom we’ll meet again and again in his others movies! They are always up to something no-good, and they always fail at their escapades. The movie was made in two segments:

“Dog Barbos and Unusual Cross” (Пёс Барбос и необычный кросс)

“Bootleggers” (Самогонщики)

Russian Video: The Oldest Woman – The Oldest Mother!

Hello,

I don’t know if it is really true or not… But today we are watching a video about the oldest woman and possible the oldest mother on the Earth. Her name is Ulya and she does not eat salt and sugare and she hates bananas. There are two documents: her passport and her child’s birth certificate, make it quite clear: Ulya was born in 1884 and her the only child was born 79 years later.

You can read all pro and contras about this case in Russia Today article. As for me – I want to believe!

Best wishes,

As of April 2007 it was located at [show location on an interactive map] 89°31.5′N 30°27′W / 89.525°N 30.45°W / 89.525; -30.45. However, northerly winds cause the camp to drift toward the southeast at a speed of 0.8 km/h. (More information you can find in Wikipedia)

Russian Video: Hafanana – Valery Leontiev!

Hello,

That was my favourite music from my childhood. I think the first time I’ve heard it on figure skating competitions… Recently, my friend Chelita published a slide-show what used this music in her wonderful “The World is Beautiful! Look!“. I never knew a name of the song but Chelita helped me and look what a beautiful Russian video I found with this song. Valery Leontiev sings Hafanana!

Some words from the song:

Budu budi budabi.
Hafa na-na
Amana kukarena- shalalala
Budubudi budabi
Hafanana
Amana kukarena shalalula
